TRANSFERS

MAM 2024 will have bus transfer services to get you from Melbourne Airport or WEHI on Sunday 18 February and return on Thursday 22 February. This will be at a cost of $45.00 AUD either way. You will be able to book your seat during the registration process. Buses are as follows:

To Lorne – 18 February

Melbourne Airport – 12pm & 1pm
WEHI – 12.30pm

 From Lorne – 22 February

Melbourne Airport – 1pm & 1.30pm
WEHI – 1.30pm

GETTING TO LORNE

FLYING IN – TULLAMARINE AIRPORT

Tullarmarine Airport is 149 kilometres from the venue, which is approx. 2 hours by car. The Tullarmarine Airport supports both domestic and international airlines – check out the airline information.

FLYING IN – AVALON AIRPORT

Avalon Airport is the closest international airport to Lorne, 91 kilometres from the venue, which is approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes by car. Jetstar is the only airline that flies into Avalon – check out the best fares here: Jetstar. MyBus offers a transport service from the Avalon Airport and will drop you off at your home, business or holiday destination.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT – TULLAMARINE AIRPORT

Getting to Lorne by public transport is also a great option, including from the Tullamarine Airport. You can take the Skybus to Southern Cross Station in Melbourne from the airport and then connect with a number of V/Line rail and coach services to Geelong, the Great Ocean Road and Lorne.

BY CAR – FROM MELBOURNE

Lorne is 146km from Melbourne CBD and will take approximately 2hr:5mins to drive. The step-by-step directions below should take you there:

  • Travel from Melbourne city onto the Westgate Freeway
  • Continue onto Princes Freeway
  • Continue onto Geelong Ring Road
  • Follow the signs for Lorne

You can choose to head to the coast or explore the hinterland by continuing on the Princes Highway (A1) or exploring the quieter country roads.

TAXIS

Lorne taxis are easy to spot, as they display a lamp on the car roof and most are painted yellow, silver or white. You can book taxi pickup for a set location, or take one from a cab rank at signposted spots. You may also hail a taxi in the street. If the rooftop lamp is lit, the taxi is usually unoccupied and available for hire.
